Asthma in Children

Asthma is probably one the commonest childhood chronic illnesses. A great deal of myth and misunderstanding surrounds this condition. The diagnosis of asthma can also be very challenging and it requires a careful reporting of symptoms by parents, an evidence based diagnosis by the doctor  and education to ensure compliance with medication and optimum control of the patients asthma.  Any child with allergies, a chronic or recurring cough and recurrent wheezing should be assessed for asthma.
